Late last Friday we received a copy of a letter from Muratec that Muratec President Jim D’Emidio had sent out to dealers, reassuring them about the recent Konica Minolta acquisition and reaffirming the company’s commitment to them post acquisition. The only comment that we have about the message in this letter to Muratec’s dealers is that it underscores D’Emidio’s professionalism, class, and integrity. We expect him to be a huge asset to Konica Minolta and believe that Muratec dealers will continue to be in good hands. Here’s the correspondence:
Dear Valued Muratec Dealers:
As many of you may know, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. acquired Muratec America, Inc. on Aug. 1, 2017. Muratec is now a wholly owned Konica Minolta subsidiary, but we will retain our name and independence as a Konica Minolta division. We are now known as “Muratec, a Konica Minolta Company.
There will be no change in Muratec’s operations, and it will be business as usual. An important aspect of the acquisition was for Muratec to retain all employees. Our highly tenured team with in-depth knowledge of the dealer channel will continue to support you. This acquisition should be completely transparent to our dealer communities.
The decision of our former parent, Murata Machinery Limited (MML), to sell their North American office equipment division was largely due to their limited development and manufacturing capabilities. However, Muratec will continue to sell MML manufactured A4 monochrome products and A3 color MFP products for the foreseeable future.
Rest assured, Muratec will continue to provide the industry’s best service and support.
This acquisition will eventually provide Muratec dealer partners with additional products and services. Furthermore, Konica Minolta will invest in Muratec, specifically to enhance adjacency product sales, including digital label presses. Konica Minolta and Muratec will work together to provide our channel the best products, services and support.
This is an important step for Muratec; it allows us to leverage Konica Minolta resources to support you as a dealer partner. We hope our relationship will continue to grow as we further integrate into the Konica Minolta family. These are exciting times for both Muratec and our North American dealers.
