In this week’s episode of Fridays with Frank, RIT Professor Emeritus and Museum of Printing Founder Frank Romano is back! He and Frank G. Cannata discuss non-traditional markets, including textile printing. The challenge for office technology dealers is finding these new markets, notes Romano, “which is not easy.”
As paper prices rise and print volumes fall, the future of printing is on anything besides paper, observes the insightful Romano, citing personalized draperies, chair coverings, and wall graphics as prime examples. “Anything that can go electronic will go electronic,” says the 83-year-old, but from interior designers and architects to in-plant shops, “print will always be there,” he ensures. We just have to seek it out!
