Press release from the issuing company:
Taktiful Software Solutions, in collaboration with Harris & Bruno International, presented a Taktisphere Live event on April 14, where viewers saw an exclusive live unboxing and guided walkthrough of the “Out of This World Embellishments” sample kit, first unveiled at Dscoop.
Following its debut at DSCOOP Edge Rockies, the complete kit was opened and explored live on Taktisphere, giving the global print and design community an in-depth look at the award-winning pieces created through a collaborative design contest. The collection highlights what is possible when creative freedom meets advanced production technology, combining HP Indigo print with embellishment on the Harris & Bruno ZRX.
The session was led by Paul Furse and Ryan Moskun from Harris & Bruno, who guided attendees through each piece in the kit, sharing insights into how the effects were achieved and what makes them stand out. Kevin Abergel and Eric Vessels of Taktiful hosted the live experience, unboxing the samples in real time alongside the audience.
“This is where you really start to see what happens when design and technology actually meet,” said Abergel. “These pieces weren’t created in a vacuum. They came out of a challenge to push limits, and the results speak for themselves. It’s one thing to talk about embellishment. It’s another to see it executed at this level.”
The sample kit is the result of a multi-organization collaboration between Taktiful, Harris & Bruno, Dscoop, and HP, bringing together students, professional designers, and independent creatives. Participants were given access to next-generation embellishment capabilities and encouraged to explore bold, unconventional applications. The resulting pieces feature a range of techniques including tactile spot coating, patent pending xMatte effects, sculpted foil applications, and layered embellishment strategies.
The live unboxing was designed to go beyond a traditional product showcase. Attendees gained practical insights into how embellishment can be used intentionally within design, along with a clearer understanding of how these effects are produced in real-world environments.
“We were not just opening a box,” Abergel added. “We unpacked ideas. The goal was for people to walk away thinking differently about what they can create.”
The interactive format of Taktisphere Live allows participants to engage directly with the hosts, ask questions, and examine each piece as it is revealed. The session is expected to draw printers, designers, brands, OEMs, and industry professionals looking to better understand the evolving role of embellishment in print.
