The Cannata Report Launches 41st Annual Dealer Survey

Charting the Future of the Office Technology Channel

by CJ Cannata

Our Annual Dealer Survey, the office technology industry’s most trusted benchmark for measuring performance, tracking change, and identifying the future direction of the dealer channel, is now open to participation from office technology dealers across the United States.

What makes this year’s survey especially important is the scale and speed of the transformation we’re seeing throughout the industry. The shift to a services-led business model is happening in real time. As recurring revenue and consultative offerings take priority over transactional hardware sales, dealers are rethinking how they operate, go-to-market, and invest in their organizations.

With our 41st Annual Dealer Survey, we are focused on better understanding that transformation. We’ll be looking closely at how dealers are diversifying their portfolios, how artificial intelligence is influencing the channel, and how cloud and cybersecurity offerings are reshaping value propositions and customer relationships. We’ve made a few changes and added new questions we think will deliver critical insights. At the same time, we’ve streamlined it slightly to keep the survey concise and user-friendly.

Our goal has always been to deliver more than just data. While the survey has long provided meaningful benchmarks and actionable insights, what sets it apart is the direction it reveals. It helps dealers understand where the channel stands today while providing intelligence on what they must do to remain competitive tomorrow. It also gives OEM partners and industry stakeholders a clearer view of how to better support the channel as it continues to evolve.

The strength of our Annual Dealer Survey is the collective insights it gathers from dealers nationwide. By sharing your data and perspective, you’re not only helping us capture an accurate picture of the industry today—you’re helping define where it goes next.

I encourage every dealer to participate.

Take our 41st Annual Dealer Survey.
