Press release from the issuing company:

HP has announced its participation as a Main Sponsor of “Barcelona 2026. World Capital of Architecture,” the official UNESCO–UIA program that will turn the city into a global hub for architectural, urban, and cultural debate from February to December 2026. The agreement consolidates HP’s strategic commitment to the AEC sector (Architecture, Engineering and Construction), a key industry for designing more sustainable and resilient cities.

“For HP, being part of Barcelona 2026 is a way to reaffirm our commitment to an architecture that transforms society. From Barcelona, we drive technology that connects design with built reality and helps professionals around the world create spaces that are more sustainable, efficient, and human,” said Daniel Martinez, managing director of the HP Barcelona International Center and VP and Division President, HP Large Format Printing. “This initiative represents an opportunity to demonstrate that innovation, when born from local talent with a global ambition, can redefine how we imagine and build our cities.”

Technology in Service of the Architecture of the Future

As a main sponsor, HP will have a prominent presence throughout the official program, which will include exhibitions, debates, urban routes, and educational workshops aimed at young people and school communities.

The company will also take part in high-impact citizen initiatives, such as the project “From Party Walls to Facades,” contributing its sustainable Latex printing technology, developed in Barcelona, for the production of urban interventions. This initiative will transform unused party walls into vibrant facades that will enrich both the urban landscape and the everyday lives of local residents, demonstrating how applied innovation can connect creativity, urban regeneration, and sustainability.

This collaboration further strengthens HP’s position as a comprehensive technology leader in the AEC sector, as the company is able to integrate the entire architectural process: from design and blueprint management to printing, digitization, and on-site execution—aligning hardware, software, services, and artificial intelligence within a single ecosystem.

From its Center of Excellence in Barcelona, one of HP’s largest global innovation hubs outside the United States, strategic technologies and solutions are developed in areas such as large-format printing, 3D printing, robotics, applied artificial intelligence, and digital services. Among these innovations is HP SitePrint, a robotics solution that prints layouts directly onto construction sites with millimetric precision—bringing productivity and digital accuracy into the real-world environment—and HP Build Workspace, a digital platform that facilitates collaboration in construction projects. This ecosystem makes the campus an international epicenter of innovation and a cross-cutting engine that drives multiple key businesses worldwide.

HP Barcelona

Barcelona, Global Epicenter of HP’s AEC Business

Barcelona is the global heart of HP’s large-format and 3D printing business and a strategic hub of talent and innovation. The city hosts multidisciplinary teams working in advanced printing, digitization, applied artificial intelligence, and robotics for the built environment.

Solutions developed in Barcelona are present in architectural and construction projects worldwide, making this designation a natural expression of the global leadership HP exercises from the city.

HP’s participation in Barcelona 2026 reinforces its commitment to the architectural ecosystem, young talent, and collaboration between companies, institutions, and professionals to advance a more digital and sustainable architecture.

Innovation and Sustainability: A Shared Vision

Architecture today faces structural challenges related to energy efficiency, decarbonization, and urban resilience. In this context, digitalization and applied artificial intelligence become key enablers to optimize resources, reduce errors, and improve the planning and execution of projects.

HP integrates sustainability throughout the entire lifecycle of its solutions, aligning technological innovation with environmental responsibility. The company believes there is no urban transformation without digital transformation, and that both must advance hand in hand.

With this alliance, HP reaffirms its vision of the future of work, where technology becomes an enabler of talent, creativity, and collaboration—bringing greater precision and productivity directly to construction sites, and helping build a more sustainable, inclusive, and connected future.
