Kyocera Nixka to Launch Belharra Inkjet Photo Printer

by Mark Vruno

Press release from the issuing company:

Kyocera Nixka, a leading innovator in industrial inkjet printing technology, has announced the official launch of its high-performance inkjet photo printer, Belharra, in the European market. This milestone follows the successful installation and commissioning of the first Belharra system at Photoweb, a Beta customer site, marking a key step toward the company’s global expansion strategy and ecofriendly approach.

A Solution Developed for Photo Printers by Photo Printers

Belharra is the result of close discussions between Kyocera Nixka and leading players in the photo industry ecosystem (customers, finishing partners…). All operational insights and production expertise have been taken into account, ensuring that the machine answers the real-world demands of high-volume photo printing environments. This global approach allowed Kyocera Nixka to create a unique, robust, user-friendly international solution that delivers the consistency, flexibility, and print quality online photo printers require all over the world.

A Photo That Respects the Planet

Thanks to this innovation, Kyocera Nixka is proving that high-quality photo printing can go hand in hand with sustainability. Belharra was designed with eco-efficiency in mind—using water-based inks, optimized energy consumption, and minimal waste during operation. A recent life cycle assessment (LCA) comparison of photos printed with Belharra and photos printed in silver halide, made by our customer Photoweb, confirms that Belharra is, in average, reducing by 60% the photos’ environmental impact versus a traditional silver halide process. And without compromise on print quality or running cost.

The Belharra printer is today the serious alternative to replace old, expensive and polluting silver halide solutions. Combined with an efficient and simple finishing system to cut and sort photo batches, it is the best solution to help photo printers in their migration to a more sustainable, flexible and profitable printing process.

“The successful implementation of our first Belharra system at a leading European Beta customer validates both the performance and the reliability of our technology in a real production environment,” said Remy Mendil, product and marketing leader at Kyocera Nixka. “We are excited to officially launch Belharra in Europe and look forward to expanding its availability globally end of 2025.”

The Kyocera Nixka Belharra inkjet photo printer is now ready for order and delivery in Europe. The global launch of Belharra is scheduled in Q4 2025, with multiple installs scheduled from end 2025 and beyond, in North America and Asia Pacific.
