Fridays with Frank – DEX Imaging’s Dan Doyle, Jr.

In this episode, Founder Frank G. Cannata catches up with Dan Doyle, Jr., CEO of Tampa-based dealership network DEX Imaging, which now has nearly 40 locations in the United States. Frank, whose relationship with Doyle’s father, DEX Chairman Dan, Sr., dates back to the Royal Bond Copier days in 1973, finds “Junior’s” positivity refreshing. Is print really down, Doyle, Jr. wonders aloud. Between February and August 2026, monthly clicks at DEX are up (slightly), he reports, citing a gradual increase in output. “We control all the print,” he explains, including customer A3 devices and desktop printers.

What else is going on at DEX?

These days, everything in the workplace seems to be running through artificial intelligence, Doyle notes, and print is seeing an uptick. Whether this trend is sustainable remains to be seen, but DEX Imaging plans to ride the AI wave as long as it can. Along with the number of printed impressions, the dealer’s field population (MIF) has grown, too, year over year. Cannata inquires about production printing, and Doyle explains what DEX is doing in the “specialty print” space, which includes wide-format and label printing. Happy Labor Day Weekend to all!
