Happy Halloween! Today, Founder Frank G. Cannata learns about a different kind of channel distribution model that is not frightening in the least! Based in Mississippi, Impression Solutions Inc. (ISI) is celebrating its 25th year in business this year, says Ron Doebler, product manager for the Epson line at ISI. A former dealer principal, Doebler is a firm believer in after-sale support and explains the national distributor’s value-added philosophy. “We cater to the dealer,” he notes, adding that ISI is far more than an order-taker with shorter hold times.
The company features a broad range of services, including same-day shipping, floor programs, wide-format certifications, and other training for sales and service team members. They also offer equipment preconfiguration for managed print services (MPS). ISI recently took on Epson’s Workforce Enterprise inkjet series and also carries Kyocera products. The distributor focuses on only two manufacturers, offering inkjet and toner devices. Impressions Solutions has created its own tools, too, such as a TCO (total cost of ownership) calculator for pricing and on-site service training. ISI actually bugs machine units, then provides tips and checks texhnician aptitude. These services are “special,” according to Doebler—something that even the manufacturers are not doing.
