In this episode, Founder Frank G. Cannata welcomes 37-year industry veteran Lanny Meek, who joined Katun Corp. two years ago as national sales manager. Katun has been an aftermarket force for more than four decades, and Cannata points out the eyebrow-raising fact that the company now plays in the channel’s hardware arena with its Arivia-branded MFPs. “How does that go?” he asks of Meek, who consulted on the endeavor before joining Katun in a full-time capacity.
Katun believes choices can be good for dealers
Meek admits that he was hesitant at first, then explains how a trip to corporate HQ in Taiwan sealed the deal for him. He and Cannata also discuss the challenging environment presently faced by dealers, and both men state reasons why they think the industry may never fully rebound from the lingering aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Meek adds that Katun’s solid commitment is reminiscent of OEMs he has worked for in the past, which include Canon, Kyocera, and RISO. He defines what “Katun Choice” is, emphasizing that finding additional revenue streams and helping to improve profitability is the end goal for dealer-partners that fit the Katun niche.
