The Cannata Report TOP TEN: Office Technology Content Readers Liked the Best in 2025

written by Mark Vruno  |  January 21, 2026

Presenting The Cannata Report‘s Top Ten most popular stories from 2025! The next generation of office technology talent, managed IT services, cybersecurity, production printing, and inkjet printing are among topics that captured the attention of our audience last year.

Below, we spotlight the most popular news stories on our website in 2025; what we humbly characterize as our must-reads: stories that resonated with our audience and will help focus our content into 2026. What emerges from this list is what’s on the minds of everyone working in the office technology dealer channel—opportunities for growth and expansion in production printing and inkjet printing, new products and solutions in managed IT services and cybersecurity, enhanced profitability and sustainability, and the next generation of talented leaders who will make it all happen. We also share our most popular video of the year, one that underscores all of the above.

Outside the Box

Petra Diener is one highly viewed contributor who always is thinking “Outside the Box,” which is the name of her column. Two of Diener’s insightful pieces made the cut: one covering how dealers can pivot toward production printing and another about the industry’s youth movement reshaping the face of office technology.

9th Place – OUTSIDE THE BOX: “Production Printing Pivot”

This past spring, we tackled the issue of cybersecurity and how it relates to more traditional equipment: “As cybersecurity threats continue to evolve, office technology dealers and their customers face increasing concerns about the security of network-connected imaging devices. Once viewed as simple office tools, MFPs, copiers, and printers have become sophisticated network endpoints that process and store sensitive business data. This shift has made them prime targets for cyber criminals seeking unauthorized access to confidential information.

“To combat these risks,” The Cannata Report’s coverage continued, “office technology manufacturers have implemented advanced security measures to protect data, prevent unauthorized access, and ensure the integrity of their devices. These security innovations go beyond basic protections, incorporating cutting-edge technologies such as AI-driven threat detection, encryption, and secure authentication.”

Then, in our summer focus on Women Influencers, Mary Hart, head of U.S. commercial channel print at HP, said, “Inspiration is what can make me a better person in my personal and professional life.ā€ She thinks inspiration can come from many sources. Depending on the individual, this may be an experience, a book, a work of art, a film, a work colleague, a person you hear about in casual conversations or even see online.

Hart was echoed by another of our 2025 Women Influencers: Ricoh’s Jennifer Healy, vice president for development and experience in the dealer channel. Healy added that inspiration can be a driving force that supports personal and professional efforts to reach and even exceed one’s goals. Their story ranks at number 10 on our list. 1170 Sept Inkjet Ascends

3rd Place – “Inkjet Ascends Higher”

Coming in at third place is an article that delves into how inkjet printing’s droplet technology is reshaping the production printing landscape within the dealer channel. We wrote: “Inkjet printing officially has moved out of the shadows of toner-based production print. Once seen as a niche or supplementary technology, production inkjet now takes center stage across various applications, including direct mail, transactional printing, books, commercial printing, and even light packaging. Office technology dealers who sell production printing equipment for OEMs such as Canon, Epson, Konica Minolta, Kyocera, and Ricoh are noticing a significant rise in customer interest,” the piece continues. “And, thanks to a new partnership, Xerox may also be seeing a resurgence in its dormant inkjet offerings.”

Right behind, in fourth place, is a Q&A with a handful of past Young Influencers. Editor-in-Chief Mark Vruno circled back with these influential leaders to see where they are now and to get their take on the state of the office technology industry. He asked them about artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation (DX), among other topics. Two of our former Young Influencers represent large dealerships, two are at OEMs, and one works on the channel side of a business automation platform focused on managed service providers (MSPs):

2. 2025 Cannata Gala to Benefit Diabetes Research

In early September, we revealed details about our 40th Anniversary Awards & Charities Gala, which was held in mid-November. Aside from the 2025 Frank Award nominees and recipients, the BIG winner was the Inserra Family Diabetes Institute at Hackensack Meridian Hackensack University Medical Center, which received $188,000 from Founder Frank G. Cannata on behalf of all our generous donors who contributed and pledged money in memory of Mike McGuirk, the late founder of ProCopy Office Solutions (which now is a Flex Technology Group Company).

THE BIG REVEAL

By a wide margin, our “Young Influencers” theme was a BIG hit mid-year, with related articles garnering four spots on the list of 10 (see above). Our AI-inspired super-hero concept, creatively executed by Art Director Doreen Borghoff, is a fun treatment that received rave reviews: So, which article has the number-one spot?
