Business As Unusual | Going Virtual: Remote Educational Opportunities on the Rise

Virtual educational events such as GreatAmerica University’s ā€œSmarketing: Preparing for Your Digital Transformationā€ enable more industry professionals to hone essential skills.

As live events have been canceled or postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the office imaging industry has adapted by going virtual. Virtually, no pun intended, every organization in every segment of the industry has been presenting webinars and virtual educational events.

It hasn’t been easy. It’s been a learning experience for everyone and what some organizations, such as GreatAmerica Financial Services Corp., have done is seek out new platforms to encourage engagement and interaction among event participants even when some segments of the virtual event are prerecorded.

GreatAmerica is using Adobe Connect for its upcoming GreatAmerica University Smarketing: Preparing for Your Digital Transformation on October 21 and 22. The event will include live and prerecorded content. Even when some segments are prerecorded, participants can ask questions and receive responses in real time.

ā€œPart of our goal of trying to find new software for our educational events is because for as long as I can remember, our go to market strategy has been to be present, accessible, and helpful to our dealers,ā€ said Josie Heskje, director, strategic marketing, office equipment group.

What better way for dealers and their sales teams to find out how this platform works while also enhancing their sales and marketing skills by attending GreatAmerica’s upcoming virtual sales and marketing event. The training is presented by a lineup of sales and marketing experts, including keynote Zach Basner with IMPACT Brand who will deliver ā€œThe Digital Consumerā€ as well as ā€œThe Selling 7 Video Workshopā€ and Marcus Sheridan, Marcus Sheridan International, who will deliver a concluding message on day two.

Attendees will learn how to bridge the gap between sales and marketing to better compete and enable sales success in this ever-growing virtual economy. Within the first few weeks of the pandemic in the U.S., internet traffic increased almost 70%, according to a Forbes.com article.

ā€œWe want solution providers to gain the clarity and confidence they need to take their sales and marketing efforts to a whole new level,ā€ states David Pohlman, executive vice president and chief operating officer, GreatAmerica Financial Services. ā€œThis event provides attendees with the framework to build shorter sales cycles, improve revenue generation and encourage collaboration between sales and marketing teams.ā€

During the two half-days of online training, solution providers will learn how to:

  • Attract warmer leads and drive more sales through sales and marketing alignment
  • Create a shared sales and marketing strategy
  • Track ROI more effectively
  • Generate the right content at the right time, shortening sales cycles
  • Provide a more cohesive customer experience

Tickets for the virtual event are $39 per seat and a Company Pass is also available, however seats are limited. For more information about the Smarketing virtual event and Early Bird pricing deadlines, visit www.greatamerica.com/smarketing.
