In this episode, Founder Frank G. Cannata congratulates the Business Technology Association (BTA) on its 100-year milestone! As one of our industry’s elder statesmen, he has known BTA for half of its history, dating back to when the association was called NOMDA (the National Office Machine Dealers Association). What was NOMDA’s early role in assisting the Japanese original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) with distribution in the United States? Frank shares some historical perspective, pointing out that diversification strategy is nothing new for office technology dealers: In the early 1980s, many typewriter dealerships wished they had gotten into the copier reselling game sooner, he recalls.
Kudos to the BTA!
While Cannata will not be in Kansas City in person next week to help celebrate the 100th anniversary, rest assured he will be there in spirit, virtually toasting BTA and the $30 billion in OEM business represented by the independent dealer community. What are some benefits of BTA membership?
