Press release from the issuing company:
Triangle Business Systems was founded with a clear purpose: to help organizations operate more efficiently through dependable technology, responsive service, and a partnership mindset rooted in trust. Founded in North Carolina and serving the Research Triangle region, the company grew by focusing on long-term relationships and operational excellence—principles that continue to define it today as TBS Technologies.
At the center of this journey is Ryan Major, founder and president, whose early career experience and hands-on leadership shaped the company from the start. Before founding Triangle Business Systems, Major built his career within the office technology industry, gaining experience across sales, operations, and customer engagement. Working directly with businesses of all sizes, he developed a deep understanding of how technology decisions impact productivity, security, and overall business performance.
Those early experiences exposed Ryan to both the strengths and shortcomings of traditional technology providers. He saw that many vendors focused on transactions rather than outcomes and often struggled to deliver consistent service. That insight became the foundation for Triangle Business Systems — a company built on accountability, responsiveness, and long-term customer success.
In its early years, Triangle Business Systems focused on copiers, printers, and document solutions, quickly establishing a reputation for service excellence. Ryan remained closely involved in daily operations, setting service standards, building disciplined sales processes, and fostering a culture where teams took ownership of customer relationships. This approach fueled steady growth and strong market credibility.
Xerox, Toshiba, and more at TBS Technologies
Over time, Triangle Business Systems became the largest independent Xerox dealership in North Carolina, a milestone that reflected not only scale but deep customer trust and operational discipline. Under Ryan’s leadership, the company demonstrated that an independently owned dealer could successfully compete with national providers by delivering superior service, local accountability, and measurable value.

TBS is proud to be one of Toshiba’s largest minority owned and operated dealers in the United States.
As technology evolved, so did the company’s vision. Ryan recognized that print was becoming part of a broader ecosystem that included IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, workflow automation, and data management. In response, Triangle Business Systems expanded into managed print services, document management, and workflow optimization — helping customers reduce costs, improve efficiency, and modernize operations.
This evolution ultimately led to a strategic rebrand. The transition from Triangle Business Systems to TBS Technologies represented more than a name change; it marked the company’s transformation into a comprehensive technology solutions provider. The TBS Technologies brand reflects a broader mission—to support the full operational and technology needs of modern organizations through a single, trusted partner.
Today, TBS Technologies delivers an integrated portfolio that includes managed print services, IT and managed network services, cybersecurity and physical security solutions, workflow automation, and cloud enabled technologies. This unified approach simplifies vendor management while allowing customers to align technology investments with business objectives.
A major milestone in this journey occurred in Spring 2025, when TBS Technologies acquired Aggie Tech, a respected local managed service provider with more than 20 years of experience serving businesses throughout the Research Triangle Park area. The acquisition significantly strengthened TBS Technologies’ managed IT and cybersecurity capabilities, added deep technical expertise, and expanded its ability to deliver fully integrated print and IT solutions. Aggie Tech’s service first culture and long standing customer relationships aligned seamlessly with TBS Technologies’ values and long term vision.
Another defining chapter in the company’s growth has been its partnership with Toshiba. Today, TBS Technologies is recognized as one of Toshiba’s largest minority owned and operated dealers in the United States, reinforcing its position as a national leader within the business technology industry and reflecting sustained performance at scale.
Beyond its technology footprint, TBS Technologies remains deeply invested in the communities it serves. The company is a proud Partner of Duke University Athletics, supporting one of the region’s most respected institutions and reinforcing its commitment to leadership, teamwork, and excellence.
This continued growth and investment culminates in a major milestone for the organization. Earlier this spring, TBS Technologies hosted the grand opening of its new headquarters at 7230 ACC Boulevard in Raleigh. The 13,000-square-foot facility, purchased in the summer of 2025, represents a significant investment in the company’s future—providing expanded space for operations, service, training, and collaboration, and underscoring TBS Technologies’ long term commitment to the region.
From its beginnings as Triangle Business Systems to its present day identity as TBS Technologies, the company’s success is inseparable from Ryan Major’s experience, leadership, and vision. While technology and scale have evolved, the foundation remains unchanged: deliver world class service, build lasting relationships, and help customers succeed. Looking ahead, TBS Technologies is positioned not just to adapt to change—but to lead it.
