40th Annual Office Technology Dealer Survey: Manufacturer Distribution

Twenty-one percent of Survey office technology dealer respondents named Ricoh as their primary A3 supplier (see above), while another 21% indicated Sharp as their primary A3 OEM partner, demonstrating the significance of these companies to a majority of dealers in the channel. Kyocera and Toshiba were each named by 14% of the respondents as their primary A3 manufacturer, and Xerox was placed in the top A3 spot by 10% of the dealers. Canon and Konica Minolta were not far behind Xerox, with 9% of respondents, respectively, indicating them as a primary A3 partner. The A3 market remains dominated by Canon, Konica Minolta, Kyocera, Ricoh, Sharp, Toshiba, and Xerox. While Epson and HP are present in the A3 segment, they have yet to establish a foothold in the primary A3 position.

Sharp and Ricoh continue to match each other as a secondary A3 choice among office technology dealers (see below), with 11% each, while Kyocera is named by 17% of the respondents in the secondary position. When considering the tertiary position, Kyocera tops all OEMs, with 50% of the respondents placing them in either a primary, secondary, or tertiary position, compared to Sharp (39%) and Ricoh (40%).

Kyocera leads as the top primary A4 MFP provider (18%), followed by Sharp (15%) and Ricoh (14%). When you take a broader view of the primary, secondary, and tertiary rankings, Kyocera takes the top overall spot with 42% of respondents choosing them as a partner in either position 1, 2, or 3, followed by HP (39%), Lexmark (35%), Ricoh (33%), and Brother (32).
